A state senator and assemblyman, both from the Hudson Valley, say they have a bipartisan solution to curb unfunded mandates. They also say they are banding together as outsiders and want their constituents to know about it.
About three months ago, Democratic state Senator Terry Gipson proposed a state constitutional amendment to prohibit certain unfunded mandates. He says the measure is a bold one.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY -- Senator Terry Gipson (D-Dutchess, Putnam) has announced this month's visits in his ongoing local government outreach tour to assist local municipalities. Senator Gipson has been attending village, town and city board meetings throughout the 41st Senate District to receive feedback and answer questions directly from municipal representatives.
I was honored to give the opening remarks at the Rhinebeck-Rheinbach Exchange's final performance. The Rhinebeck-Rheinbach Exchange is a not-for-profit organization that provides an opportunity for students from our area and the "Sister City", Rheinbach, Germany to participate in a two-week musical and cultural exchange.
