SENATOR TERRY GIPSON ANNOUNCES EXPANSION OF EPIC COVERAGE FOR SENIORS
POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – New York State Senator Terry Gipson (D-Dutchess, Putnam) announced the inclusion of $4.1 million in funding for the expansion of the Elderly Pharmaceutical Insurance Coverage (EPIC) program in the 2014/2015 New York State Budget. This funding will increase the number of seniors aged 65 and over who will now be income-eligible for the program, which helps seniors supplement their out-of-pocket Medicare Part D drug plan costs.

SENATOR GIPSON ANNOUNCES LEGISLATION TO HELP UPSTATE DAIRY FARMS PASSES STATE SENATE
ALBANY, NY – New York State Senator Terry Gipson (D-Dutchess, Putnam) announced that on March 24, 2014, the New York State Senate passed legislation S.2192. Senator Gipson, Ranking Member on the Senate Agriculture Committee, was a co-sponsor of the legislation. The bill aims to remove the restrictions on bulk milk haulers that negatively impacts upstate dairy farms' ability to continue their important role of delivering milk in bulk to consumers in New York City and Long Island such as schools and hospitals.

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – New York State Senator Terry Gipson (D-Dutchess, Putnam), local Highway Superintendents and representatives today urged New York State to include more infrastructure funding for municipalities in the 2014/15 State Budget and a greater commitment from New York State to address infrastructure needs.
I was raised in a farming community, and understand the importance of our local farms, and the role agriculture plays in our economy and daily lives. That is why I am proud to be the Ranking Member on the New York State Senate’s Agriculture Committee and to represent an area with a rich history of family farms.

HALDANE VOLLEYBALL TEAM HONORED BY STATE SENATE WITH RESOLUTION FROM SENATOR GIPSON
ALBANY, NY – New York State Senator Terry Gipson (D-Dutchess, Putnam) welcomed student-athletes and coaches from the Haldane High School Girls Volleyball Class-D State Championship team at the State Capitol on March 12, 2014. The State Senate passed a resolution, introduced by Senator Gipson, commemorating their championship season. The Blue Devil’s volleyball team was invited onto the Senate floor where Senator Gipson signed and presented them with a copy of the resolution.
