Albany, N.Y., February 1—State Senator Tom O'Mara (R-C, Big Flats) said today that Governor Andrew Cuomo's proposed 2011-2012 state budget contains several key, core proposals that, if enacted, "would finally put in place the building blocks of a long-overdue strategy to get us out from under America's highest tax burden, create more cost-effective government across the board, and open the door to sustained private-sector job growth."

Albany, N.Y., February 11—State Senator Tom O’Mara (R-C, Big Flats) welcomed a legislative agreement that will ensure the 2011-2012 state budget adoption process includes the use of joint, bipartisan Senate-Assembly budget conference committees.


O'Mara releases results of online budget survey as Senate and Assembly prepare to release plans

Elmira, N.Y., March 13—“That single answer alone delivers a loud-and-clear local message that the state bureaucracy should be streamlined and made more cost effective for taxpayers,”  State Senator Tom O’Mara (R-Big Flats) said today as he released the results of his online survey on Governor Andrew Cuomo’s 2011-2012 proposed state budget showing 97% of the survey’s respondents support proposals to consolidate, restructure and reduce the cost of the state bureaucracy.
