'Open Budget is a first step in Open New York'

From the office of New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo:

Albany, N.Y., January 22--Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced the launch of OpenBudget.ny.gov, a new website that provides unprecedented access and transparency to New York's budget. Open Budget's easy-to-use tools, charts, and information are available to the public today in coordination with the Governor's Executive Budget address.

Open Budget is a first step in Open New York, an initiative outlined in the Governor's 2013 State of the State address, which will use technology to promote transparency, improve government performance, and enhance citizen engagement.

Senate set to act on final pieces of 2013-14 New York State budget ~ Watch Live

The Senate will be in session this evening and into tomorrow morning to enact the final pieces of this year's state budget. 

The Assembly is scheduled to complete action on the budget on Thursday.

Senate completes action on new state budget early this morning, Assembly to follow on Thursday ~ Find more information and share your own early reaction through Senator O'Mara's latest online poll

Earlier this morning, at approximately 4:30 a.m., the New York State Senate completed its action on the 2013-14 state budget.

Members of the Assembly are scheduled to return to Albany on Thursday to give final legislative approval to this year's new fiscal plan, which will then be delivered to Governor Andrew Cuomo to be signed into law -- representing New York's third consecutive on-time budget.

O'Mara on state budget: spending control and future tax breaks, but not enough overall

Albany, N.Y., March 27—State Senator Tom O’Mara (R-C, Big Flats) today welcomed the ongoing state spending restraint – for the third consecutive year state spending growth will remain below two percent – and the establishment of future tax breaks in the state’s final 2013-14 state budget.

The Senate finished approving the state’s new fiscal plan early this morning, and the Assembly is expected to follow suit and give the budget final legislative approval on Thursday.  It will then be signed into law by Governor Andrew Cuomo, representing the third year in a row the state budget's been enacted on time.

Albany, N.Y., January 21—State Senator Tom O’Mara (R-C, Big Flats) today highlighted key parts of Governor Andrew Cuomo’s proposed 2014-2015 state budget, including proposals to keep state government spending in check for the fourth consecutive year and launch an aggressive tax-cutting program aimed at creating upstate manufacturing  jobs.
