Purple Heart stamp another chance to promote national pride, O'Mara says

Albany, N.Y., May 5—The official unveiling and first-day issuance of the new Purple Heart Forever USA postage stamp takes place today at a ceremony on the USS Midway Museum in San Diego, and State Senator Tom O’Mara (R-C, Big Flats) is marking the occasion by noting that the effort to designate the stamp began in earnest in the New York State Senate over a decade ago.

O'Mara appointed to Rural Resources Commission

Albany, N.Y.—State Senator Tom O’Mara (R-C, Big Flats) announced today that he has been appointed as one of five senators who will serve on the joint, bipartisan Legislative Commission on the Development of Rural Resources.

Senator O'Mara praises volunteer recruitment efforts planned for National Volunteer Week

Albany, N.Y., April 6—State Senator Tom O’Mara (R-C, Big Flats) reminded area residents today that a number of the region’s volunteer fire departments will hold Open Houses this weekend as part of “Recruit NY,” a statewide initiative sponsored by the Firemen’s Association of the State of New York (FASNY), the state Association of Fire Chiefs and others to encourage the recruitment of local volunteer firefighters and EMTs.
