Sabres Street Lackawanna kicked-off Sunday at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with games and giveaways for local children. The full program launches Monday, June 11, at 4:30 p.m. in the church parking lot, 66 Wasson Ave. Local youth, ages 6 to 15, are invited to participate.

Jay J’s Law Approved in Senate

Kennedy-sponsored legislation, which carries name of local boy, aims to crackdown on repeat child abusers.

ALBANY, N.Y. – Senator Timothy M. Kennedy, D-58th District, announced the Senate unanimously approved Jay J’s Law by a vote of 57-0. Jay J’s Law (S.6508/A.9488), which Senator Kennedy authored, will crackdown on repeat child abuse and enact far stiffer penalties for violent offenders who repeatedly hurt children.

Senator Kennedy, Naaman Roosevelt Send off Buffalo Youth Headed to National Football Tournament

Players, coaches from Buffalo’s United Youth Football League depart for national tournament in Florida.

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Players and coaches from Buffalo’s United Youth Football League departed for their national tournament in Florida Friday from True Bethel Church in Buffalo. Senator Tim Kennedy, Councilman Demone Smith and Naaman Roosevelt, formerly of Buffalo Bills, were there to send off and congratulate the local contingent headed to Florida. Over 100 Buffalo youth are headed to the national championship tournament.

In recent years, teams from Buffalo have done very well at this national tournament, outperforming teams from across the country. League organizers expect no less this year.
