Tatarstan delegation visits Capitol to learn about developing nanotechnology

Sen. Toby Ann Stavisky, Chairwoman of the Higher Education Committee, receives a dish from Farid Hairullovich Mukhametshin, Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan and Speaker of the Russian Republic’s Parliament, who was touring the Capitol.  Mr. Mukhametshin also toured SUNY Albany’s College of Nanoscale Sciences and Engineering to learn how Tatarstan can develop nanotechnology.

Senate passes Stavisky bill requiring transparency for SUNY, CUNY and Higher Education Services Corp. trustees

The New York State Senate unanimously passed Sen. Toby Ann Stavisky’s bill that would increase transparency of the Board of Trustees of the state and city universities and the Higher Education Services Corporation (HESC) by making resolutions and board actions available to the public seven days after the meeting.

Senate passes Stavisky bill ensuring objectivity of Board of Trustees at SUNY and CUNY

The State Senate passed Sen. Toby Ann Stavisky’s bill, S1736B, ensuring the objectivity of SUNY and CUNY Trustees by limiting the appointments to those who do not work directly for the Governor or Mayor.
