On Thursday, April 26, 2012, the Senate played host to cadets from the United States Military Academy as part of West Point day at the Capitol.  Senator Stavisky attended a reception in their honor and took to the floor to welcome the cadets.  She told the cadets that although they come from 210 years of history and tradition, they “represent the future, not just the past.”  She went on to praise them for their commitment to the country and thank them for their visit.  “You serve our country abroad, and at home. In peace, and in war," she told the cadets, "And for that you honor us today by your presence."
