Sen. Stavisky meets with members of the Familial Dysautonom​​ia Foundation

Sen. Toby Ann Stavisky meets with Dysautonomia Foundation Executive Director David Brenner and Familial Dysautonomia patients at the Capitol in Albany.  She received a plaque in recognition of her efforts to help raise awareness and promote support for familial dysautonomia treatment, research and screening.  Familial dysautonomia is a genetic neurological disease present at birth in primarily Ashkenazi Jewish babies.  She also sponsored a resolution making Feb. 28 Familial Dysautonomia Day in New York.

Sen. Toby Ann Stavisky and Assemblywoman Grace Meng announce assistance for constituents applying for HEAP.  The Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is a federal progarm administered by the New York State Human Resources Adminisration that helps low income homeowners and renters pay bills for heating fuel, equipment and repairs.

Sen. Toby Ann Stavisky, Assemblywoman Grace Meng and Councilman Peter Koo invited the State Insurance Department to speak to tornado-affected homeowners about how to apply for reimbursement for damage to their property.  The State Insurance Department's van visited Flushing with staff to help constituents complete paperwork in Chinese, Korean, English and Spanish.  Homeowners can contact the State Insurance Department at (212) 480-5568 for forms, or (800) 874-9426 for the translation line.
