Pratt Students Of Interior Design Exhibit Work In Albany

Albany, New York (April 11, 2005): Miniature replicas of interior spaces that are both practical and futuristic, with some designed especially for children, were displayed by Pratt Institute students of Interior Design during the recent New York Eleven exhibition attended by State Senator Velmanette Montgomery (D-Brooklyn) in Albany. Pratt Institute, which is located in Montgomery’s Senate District, is part of the New York Eleven, a collaboration of eleven prestigious educational institutions in the State offering four-year programs in interior design.

          Albany, New York (March 31, 2005): New York State Senators Velmanette Montgomery (D-Brooklyn) and Thomas K. Duane (D/WFP-Manhattan) this week held a public forum on the Rockefeller Drug Laws and the disproportionate impact these laws have had on women. Testimony was presented by various legal experts, advocates for drug law reform and women who where incarcerated under these laws.           Albany, New York (January 18, 2005): The NYS Senate and Assembly gave approval to legislative resolutions introduced by State Senator Velmanette Montgomery (D-Brooklyn) that celebrate the life and accomplishments of "Unbought and Unbossed" Shirley Chisholm and commemorate the Shirley Chisholm Cultural Institute for Children in Brooklyn, New York. The Institute, which is located in Montgomery’s Senate District, was founded by the late Shirley Chisholm in 1969.
