Senator Bill Larkin (R-C, Cornwall-on-Hudson) announced today that the New York Regional Interconnect (NYRI) has requested the Public Service Commission (PSC) withdraw its application to run a controversial high-voltage power line from the Edic Substation in Marcy to the Rock Tavern Substation in New Windsor from consideration.

Senate Democrats Protect Drug Dealers and Drug-Dealing Illegal Aliens

Senator Bill Larkin (R-C, Cornwall-on-Hudson) today expressed his frustration, outrage and anger at the pro-drug provisions contained in the budget crafted by the Senate Democrats. "These changes to the law will allow hardened criminals, as well as illegal aliens, to be allowed back on the streets sooner and with less state control," said Larkin. "The more we read the language contained in the budget, which was crafted behind closed doors, the more benefits we find for criminals and illegal aliens.

Senator Larkin Encourages Local Law Enfocement Agencies To Apply For Nearly $1 Billion In Federal Grants

Senator Bill Larkin recently announced the availability of nearly $1 billion in federal grants for law enforcement agencies to create and preserve jobs and to increase crime prevention efforts.  This funding has been provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 and will be made available through the Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Hiring Recovery Program (CHRP).

Senate Introduces Comprehensive Package Of Legislation To Keep New York's Young Drivers Safe

Senator Bill Larkin (R-C, Cornwall-on-Hudson) and members of the New York State Senate Majority Conference have introduced SAFE-TEEN New York, a comprehensive package of legislation designed to keep New York’s younger, less experienced drivers safe while on the road and prevent future tragic accidents.

The package of bills was announced at a Capitol news conference, where the Senators were joined by John Arout of Staten Island, whose 17-year-old daughter Michelle was killed in a high speed crash while the driver of her car was racing another teen driver.
