SENATOR STACHOWSKI SPONSORS RIGHT TO LIFE LOBBY DAY IN ALBANY

 Senator William T. Stachowski (D-C, Lake View), today sponsored the New York State Right To Life Committee’s 2010 Lobby For Life Day in Albany. 

 A bi-partisan, multi-faith and multi-cultural gathering of approximately 150 members of the statewide Right To Life Committee convened in Albany to listen to legislative leaders speak in support of the Committee’s positions before members proceeded to meet with state representatives.

       Senator William Stachowski (D, Lake View) today honored Margaret “Peg” Overdorf of Buffalo, NY at a special ceremony in the state capital as the New York State Senate’s 2010 “Woman of Distinction.”

       Peg Overdorf was honored for her outstanding work as the Executive Director of the Valley Community Association (VCA) in the City of Buffalo and for her incredible community service throughout Erie County.

SENATOR STACHOWSKI AND STATE SENATE PASS HISTORIC BILL TO PROTECT DOMESTIC WORKERS: Measure Provides Basic Labor Protections To Over 200,000 Employees

       Senator William T. Stachowski (D, Lake View) tonight announced the New York State Senate has passed the historic Domestic Workers Bill of Rights (S.2311-A) which would make New York the first state in the nation to provide new standards of worker protection for more than 200,000 employees in an industry which has gone unregulated for decades.
