Senator Craig M. Johnson, (D-Nassau), Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Investigations and Government Operations, held a hearing on the Office of the Medicaid Inspector General's efforts to crack down on fraud within the Medicaid System on Jan. 7, 2009.

In this current economic climate, and with increasing pressure to find savings and  efficiencies in Medicaid, the Committee is using its oversight capacity to examine the actions and performance of this office.
