Budget Extender Remarks by Senate Republican Leader Dean Skelos: Monday, June 7, 2010
In his remarks, Senator Skelos discusses the Democrats’ failure to
conduct a public budget discussion or include Republicans in negotiations,
their rejection of Republican proposals for Medicaid reforms to reduce
spending; the fact that the budget extender bill includes Medicaid spending
that makes up about 40 percent of the overall state budget; and the lack of
an overall fiscal plan for the state budget.
