At a recent meeting of the Senate Education Committee, Senator Montgomery spoke out against the Last In, First Out (LIFO) bill (S.3501), which attempts to leverage the state’s current fiscal crisis to eliminate the seniority and tenure rights of all New Year City educators. Moreover, the bill is a blatant attempt at union busting, demonstrating a clear and dangerous disregard for the rights of educators that have been negotiated and defined through collective bargaining.
