“As a Woman of Distinction, Ginny Clark joins women from across our state, as well as a distinguished list of previous award recipients, whose contributions have enriched the quality of life in our communities,” said Senator Alesi.  “Through her leadership and advocacy, Ginny has become a great role model for women in business, volunteerism and charitable giving.  I am proud of her achievements and it is an honor to nominate her for this award.”

I am humbled to be recognized with this honor,” said honoree, Ginny Clark, “and fortunate to have the support of my company, Constellation Brands, that allows me to successfully connect the public and private sectors for the betterment of our communities and engagement of our employees.”

Having joined Constellation Brands in 1998, Ginny Clark has held various titles in the company and has managed a number of significant initiatives that have had a positive economic impact on our region.  Starting in 2004, Ms. Clark became closely involved in two major community outreach projects: the New York Wine and Culinary Center and the Constellation Brands – Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center (CMAC).  Both projects opened in Canandaigua in time for the 2006 summer season, and since, have been enjoyed by thousands of visitors from Rochester, Western New York and across the state.  She is presently President and Executive Director for the Friends of CMAC, and sits on the board of directors for the Culinary Center.

Today, as Vice President of Community Affairs, Ginny Clark represents Constellation Brands in our local community and beyond.  Her efforts are designed to support the achievement of company goals, implementing company programs and initiatives that are focused on instilling employee pride, building public trust, fostering education, the arts and health, while responding to community needs.

In 2008, she oversaw the construction and design of the company’s new global headquarters, which opened in February 2009 – on time and under budget.  In 2010, Ginny Clark was appointed President and Executive Director of CMAC and oversees the operations and promotions of the facility.  She currently serves on the International Advisory Board for R.I.T., and advisory boards for the Rochester City Ballet, Educational Enterprise, and The Greater Rochester Enterprise Organizations.  Ms. Clark also serves on the development committee for Mercy Flight Central and is involved in various business trade organizations and community-related efforts.

(2008), the Athena International Award (2009), which honors women for their leadership in business, and the Thomas B. Golisano Award for Philanthropy (2010).

As a 2011 “Woman of Distinction” honoree, Ginny Clark’s name will be included in the roll of other women who have made an impact in the community that they lived in and improved the quality of life for all New Yorker’s.  Some notable names she will join include Lucille Ball, Susan B. Anthony, Emma Willard, Harriet Tubman and “Grandma Moses” Robertson.
