    It is part of the University of the State of New York one of the most complete, interconnected systems of educational services in the United States. It is responsible for the supervision for all public schools and all standardized testing, as well as the production and administration of state tests and Regents Examinations.  In addition, the State Education Department oversees higher education, cultural institutions such as museums and libraries, and the licensing of numerous professions.

    Senator Kevin S. Parker is a member of the Black, Puerto Rican, Hispanic and Asian Caucus.  He is intimately familiar with the needs of his ethnically diverse community that consists of 311,000 constituents in Flatbush, East Flatbush, Midwood, Ditmas Park, Kensington and Borough Park.
