    Job Mashariki, former President/CEO and Founder of Black Veterans for Social Justice was named today to the NYS Senate Veterans' Hall of Fame. State Senator Velmanette Montgomery nominated Mr. Mashariki for this special designation. He served his country honorably as a Specialist Four in the United States Army.


    Born and raised in Bedford Stuyvesant in Brooklyn, New York, Mr. Marshariki guided his organization through 31 years of service to veterans and their families, as well as the community at large. Joe Mashariki is recognized for his dedication, organization and innovative approaches to service delivery; his commitment, leadership and vision of community development as well as providing services to veterans and their families.


    Joe Mashariki serves on the Boards of Fort Greene Senior Citizens Council, NYC Coalition for Veterans in Pain and Distress, Bedford Stuyvesant Legal Services Corporation, national Coalition of Homeless Veterans, Coalition for the Improvement of Bedford Stuyesant, Black Agency Executives, National Association of Black Veterans, and the Human Services Council of New York City.
