IT’S ALL ABOUT THE ECONOMY....
This past year, we closed a $10 billion deficit by cutting spending. We did not rely on tax increases. In fact, we cut taxes and enacted a property tax cap! Our reform plan has already resulted in recent job growth outpacing nearly every state in the nation.
This month we returned to Albany and worked in a bipartisan fashion to provide $690 million in personal income tax relief for 4.4 million taxpayers. Middle class taxpayers will see the lowest tax rate in more than 50 years!
And more than 80% of impacted employers will no longer have to pay the job-killing MTA payroll tax. While much has been accomplished, we still face economic challenges that will require bold actions and tough decisions. And more needs to be done.
