adobestock_29987172.jpeg

Senator Andrew Lanza and The NYC Department of Finance will host a property tax exemption event to assist homeowners with applications for the Senior Citizen Homeowners’ Exemption (SCHE), Enhanced STAR, the Disabled Homeowners’ Exemption (DHE), and the Veterans’ Exemption.

Property tax exemptions are available for eligible senior citizens, 65 years and older, veterans and people with disabilities. For those who qualify for these programs, one must bring photo ID, tax returns or proof of income for the year 2018 or 2019 for all homeowners listed on the deed, trust documents (if applicable) and DD214 or discharge papers (for veterans only) to the event. All attendees should bring their most recent Notice of Property Tax Value (NOPV), which they should have received from the Department of Finance in January.

Due to the success of similar events Senator Lanza hosted last year, and given numerous requests for one-on-one assistance, Senator Lanza is proud to connect constituents with assistance in applying for these exemptions and discussing their Notice of Property Value with the Department of Finance. This event will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2020 from 10:00am-12:00pm at CYO Mt. Loretto, 6541 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY  10309
