Carroll Park Kids' Concert Series: Putamayo Kids Picnic Playground Tour featuring Jay Mankita

Putumayo Kids is the children’s and educational division of Putumayo World Music. As one of the leading children’s record labels, Putumayo Kids is committed to introducing children to other cultures through music from around the world. Putumayo Kids produces music that entertains, educates, and inspires cultural curiosity. More than three million Putumayo Kids CDs have been sold around the world. At least one percent of the CD sales benefit non-profit groups that support children, families, schools, and other charities.

Jay Mankita presents concerts and workshops for children and families that promote kindness and respect, sustainability, healthy choices, literacy, and appreciation of our natural world. Programs are interactive and educational, and of course, always fun. Jay tours in his veggie oil-powered van, the ‘Veggie Voyager’. Jay enjoys demonstrating the van and talking about alternative energy after his concerts. Over the past 20 years or so, Jay has presented concerts and workshops for children, teachers, and families in more than 1000 schools, libraries, camps, festivals, museums, recreation halls, and village greens.
