Senator Skelos' Breast Cancer Screening Day

On Wednesday, April 8th, 2009 Senator Skelos will be sponsoring a Breast Cancer Screening Day. This event will be held at Baldwin Public located at 2385 Grand Ave from 8:30 AM - 2:15 PM.

This is open to all Nassau County women 40 years of age and over. All women are welcome, whether you are insured or not. There is no out of picket expenses - if you are insured, your carrier will be billed. You must bring your insurance or Medicaid card to the appointment. You and your physician will be notified of the results. The screening will be conducted by trained professionals from Nassau Health Care Corporation.

“Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer related deaths among women,” said Senator Skelos. “It is important that women over 40 get regular check-ups so that any irregularities can be detected early and lives can be saved. During this bad economic situation for our state and country, and with people losing their jobs and health benefits, it is more important than ever that a program such as this is available to all women because early detection is the best prevention.”

Appointments are necessary and will be scheduled on a first come first serve basis. To arrange an appointment, please call Senator Skelos’ office at 766-8383.
