Free Legal Services Program

     Senator Elaine Phillips and the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) will be holding a free program in New Hyde Park to provide free legal services to those in need.

     The Mobile Legal Help Center will be at the Hillside Public Library (155 Lakeville Road, New Hyde Park) on Monday, April 24th from 10 am to 3 pm.  The Mobile Legal Help Center, which is a partnership between the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) and the New York State Office of Court Administration, brings free, civil legal services directly into communities.

      NYLAG staff will be available to provide free legal assistance to local residents on issues related to:           

• Domestic violence
• Family Law
• Healthcare and disability benefits
• Housing (tenants only)
• Identity theft and consumer credit issues
• Advance Planning

     Individuals should bring with them any documentation related to their situation that may be useful to the NYLAG staff in providing assistance.  

     Residents who would like more information about the free legal services program on April 24th or would like to make an appointment should call Senator Phillips’ office at 516-746-5924.  Appointments are required.
