Leadership Academy

Senator Elaine Phillips, in partnership with Northwell Health, will host a Leadership Academy for elementary and high school students on Saturday, November 18, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m at Long Island Jewish Valley Stream. The theme of the event is “Leadership,

Bullying and Social Media,” and it is designed to help students develop leadership qualities and a strategy to combat bullying.
Sewanhaka Central High School District’s Assistant Superintendent, Regina Agrusa, will be the Academy’s guest speaker.

Senator Phillips will hold a roundtable discussion with high school leaders and Regina Agrusato, Collins Ihaza, a Temple University graduate, Nassau County Detective Pamela Stark and former basketball player Demetrius Taylor to address issues of bullying and social media.

A STEM tour of the building with doctors and support leaders will cap off the event.
