Senator Farley & Catholic Charities Family Room's Community Health Fair Slated for April 19th

State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) will be co-hosting his annual health fair with Catholic Charities Family Room on Tuesday, April 19th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the upper level of the Riverfront Center, Amsterdam.

"Called the Community Wellness Day, this event has always been successful in delivering information on services that local agencies provide to the public," Senator Farley said. The health fair is geared towards people of all ages and is set during the break week for local schools so families can participate. Those unable to attend can call Senator Farley’s office to obtain brochures and weblinks on health topics.

"A lot of great local agencies are participating. The list includes many of our neighbors in Riverfront Center. They include St. Mary’s Hospital, Fulmont Community Action Agency, Community Health Center, NAMI, Home Health Care Partners, and New York Oncology Hematology," Senator Farley reported.

"There will something for everyone. Offerings include lead screenings for children ages 2 and under by St. Mary’s Hospital, blood pressure screenings for seniors by Home Health Care Partners, Body Fat and BMI screenings for all by HealthLink, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office providing identification cards under the SAFE Child program, and special appearances by Fidelasaurus and Amsterdam Mohawk baseball team mascot MoJo at lunch time. Doodles the Clown will be on hand from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Family Room will host a coloring contest for children under the age of 5 and a Design Your Own Pinwheel for kids ages 6 to 12, " Senator Farley announced.
