Shed The Meds Program

Looking to dispose of expired medications? Drop them off for safe disposal on Saturday, June 24th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Garden City Village Hall (349 Stewart Avenue, Garden City).

Any type of medication can be brought for safe disposal. Additionally, sharps are also accepted. Safely disposing of medications prevents pollution of our waterways, protects our environment and keeps them out of the wrong hands.

Residents can simply drive up and drop-off any medication that has expired or they no longer need, where it will be collected and safely disposed of by officers from the Garden City Police Department. There is no need to even get out of the car.

Those who are unable to take advantage of this handy drop-off can also dispose of unwanted prescription medication any time at the New York State Police Troop Headquarters in Farmingdale (at Republic Airport), as well as any of the Nassau County Police Department Precinct locations.
