Prostate Cancer Screening

Prostate cancer is the second leading cause of death in men. The American Cancer Society estimates 221,000 new cases of prostate cancer to be diagnosed in 2015, with almost 28,000 succumbing to the disease.  Early detection of prostate cancer saves lives, which is why I’m partnering with NYU Winthrop Hospital to provide a free prostate cancer screening.

We will be holding a FREE Prostate Screening on Tuesday, September 4th, at Winthrop Urology Associates (1300 Franklin Ave. Suite ML6, Garden City) from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.

Registrations are required and appointments can be made by calling my Community Office at 516-739-1700.

Screenings will include a PSA blood test and a digital rectal exam (optional).

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. So now is a perfect time to schedule a free screening --  if caught early, prostate cancer can be very treatable.  It’s extremely important for men to be tested, as early as the age of 40.
