SENATOR GOLDEN PLANS CELEBRATION OF ASIAN LUNAR NEW YEAR

Brooklyn- Senator Marty Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) together with the Chinese American Partnership Inc. has announced plans to host the 9th Annual Lunar New Year celebration at New Utrecht High School, located at 1601-80th Street in Brooklyn, on Sunday, March 6, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The celebration, which is free and open to the public, will include cultural performances, food, and entertainment.

Senator Marty Golden stated, “I am pleased to announce and invite the community to attend my annual celebration of Lunar New Year for the communities of South Brooklyn. This year, Happy 4709, we celebrate the Year of the Rabbit. As in the past, this event will be sure to be one filled with happiness and good wishes for health, prosperity and a great new year.”

The program for the Lunar New Year celebration will include performances by area students, as well as professionals from diverse ethnicities. The celebration is supported by sponsors and the event will make available important community information and a raffle drawing.
