It’s My Park Day – May 15th 2010

You can help!

On It’s My Park Day, Partnerships for Parks invites you and your family to help care for and celebrate our parks! It’s My Park Day activities are coordinated by local community groups, City Parks Foundation, and many divisions of the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation, including Urban Park Rangers, Historic House Trust, and Recreation.

This year the Shore Road Parks Conservancy has registered and will be running activities along Shore Road starting at 9:30 am. Please come to the main location at the Gazebo at 90th Street.

The Urban Park Rangers have a registered location as well at Burnett Street and Avenue U to clean the Burnett Street trail beginning at 10 am.

Registration is not required - all you need to do show up at the location listed above on the day and have fun! It’s that simple.

The activities we need volunteers for are cleaning and raking hillside, cleaning and mulching tree pits, removing soil from sidewalks and cut edging along walkways, rake and sweep entrances and paths and remove debris, planting annuals inside park, clearing drain pits and cut edging along path and cutting back weeds

If you need any more information about the Shore Road location please email us at info@shoreroadparks.org.

For more information on the Burnett Street Trail cleaning please call Lynn McEvoy at 718-421-2021.
