After conducting 18 public forums across the state, listening to 53 hours of testimony and speaking with more than 2,000 residents about the tragedy of the state’s heroin and opioid epidemic, the Senate’s bipartisan Joint Task Force on Heroin and Opioid Addiction will release its report tomorrow, Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 1:15 p.m. in Room 124 of the Capitol.
Twenty-five Senators who participated in the Task Force will be joined at the news conference by experts on substance abuse, and representatives of law enforcement, to make legislative recommendations to address issues surrounding the increase in drug abuse, addiction and drug related crimes in New York that has claimed countless lives and hurt families across the state.
