Gang Awareness & Prevention Workshop

On Long Island, MS-13 and other violent gangs have terrorized our communities and their gruesome attacks have made national headlines.  Over the past few years, many positive steps have been taken to eradicate this problem and remove the threat from our community.  Despite this, more work needs to be done. I will be partnering with the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office to offer a Gang Awareness and Prevention Workshop that will educate residents and help ensure our community remains an outstanding place to live, work, and raise a family.

The program will feature presentations that will inform youth and parents about the types of gangs in our neighborhoods, the signs and symbols they use and ways to proactively prevent our youth from getting involved.  Representatives from Youth Enrichment Services (YES) will also be on hand to answer questions and offer responsible suggestions for young people in lieu of gang participation.

I strongly encourage youth, parents, guardians and the community to attend this informative and potentially life-saving workshop. For additional information, please contact my District Office at (631) 665-2311.
