Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz to Announce Recipients of $2 Million Discretionary Funds

Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz (D-Bronx) will host a Breakfast on Monday, August 17, 2009 from 8:30 AM – 10:30 AM with representatives from organizations for whom he will allocate discretionary funds in 2009.  The event will take place at Maestro’s Caterers located at 1703 Bronxdale Avenue near Morris Park Avenue in The Bronx.

“This is a historic achievement for the 32nd Senatorial District!” exclaimed Senator Rev. Diaz after securing $2 million in funding for twenty-two organizations whose programs serve the many needs of his constituents in the South Bronx.

Senator Rev. Diaz will allocate $2 million in discretionary funding to: Bronx AIDS Services, Bronx Jewish Community Council, Casa Cultural Dominicana del Bronx, New York Inc. , Council of Senior Centers and Services of New York City,  Hebrew Home for the Aged at Riverdale, Hispanic Federation, Housing and Geriatric Association Resources, Institute for Puerto Rican and Hispanic Elderly,  Latino Center on Aging, Neighborhood Initiative Development Corp., Neighborhood Self Help By Older Persons Project Inc., NY Latino Research and Resource Network, Older Adults Technology Services, Palladia, Parkchester South Condominium Recreation, Per Scholas, Rainbow After School, Southeast Bronx Neighborhood Sustainable South Bronx, United Coalition Association, Word of Life International, and Youth Ministries for Peace and Justice.

Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr. will be joining Senator Rev. Diaz at this momentous occasion.
