The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is in New York State. Efforts to combat the person-to-person, or community spread, of COVID-19 have been successful and are ongoing. This includes social distancing, mandatory face coverings, quarantine measures, and travel restrictions for those entering New York from states with increased rates of COVID-19 transmission. Spread of the virus causing COVID-19 is primarily through respiratory droplets. The severity of infection affects people differently. Some infected individuals display little to no symptoms. A test can confirm infection.
