Provides that a person who is a veteran of the wars of the United States be permitted to use any of the state park golf courses in this state without the payment of any fees or other charges for the use of such state park golf courses.

AN ACT to amend the parks, recreation and historic preservation law,  in
  relation to providing free golf for veterans at state park golf cours-
  es

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. The parks, recreation  and  historic  preservation  law  is
amended by adding a new section 13.20 to read as follows:
  S  13.20  FREE  GOLF  AT  STATE PARK GOLF COURSES. NOTWITHSTANDING THE
PROVISIONS OF ANY OTHER LAW, ANY PERSON WHO IS A RESIDENT  OF  NEW  YORK
STATE, WHO SERVED IN THE ARMED FORCES OF THE UNITED STATES DURING A TIME
OF WAR, AS DEFINED IN PARAGRAPH (C) OF SUBDIVISION ONE OF SECTION EIGHT-
Y-FIVE  OF  THE  CIVIL SERVICE LAW, SHALL BE PERMITTED TO USE ANY OF THE
STATE PARK GOLF COURSES IN THIS STATE, UPON THE SAME  TERMS  AND  CONDI-
TIONS  AS  APPLY  TO  THE GENERAL PUBLIC, BUT WITHOUT THE PAYMENT OF ANY
FEES OR OTHER CHARGES FOR THE USE OF SUCH STATE PARK GOLF COURSES.
  S 2. This act shall take effect on the sixtieth  day  after  it  shall
have become a law. Effective immediately, the addition, amendment and/or
repeal  of  any  rule  or regulation necessary for the implementation of
this act on its effective date is authorized and directed to be made and
completed on or before such effective date.
