SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1. Authorizes the reestablishment of the Middletown community development agency. Section 2. Effective Date. BONACIC -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Corporations, Authorities and Commissions AN ACT to authorize the reestablishment of the Middletown community development agency THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of paragraph (b) of subdivi- sion 1 of section 856 of the general municipal law or any other provision of law to the contrary, the Middletown community development agency, created by section 601-a of the general municipal law, shall be deemed reestablished upon the filing by the governing body of the muni- cipality for whose benefit such agency is reestablished the certificate required by paragraph (a) of subdivision 1 of section 856 of the general municipal law and shall continue in existence until termination and dissolution pursuant to the provisions of paragraph (b) of subdivision 1 of such section; provided that, for purposes of paragraphs (a) and (b) of subdivision 1 of such section, the special act of the legislature referenced in such paragraphs shall be deemed to refer to this act. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD13988-01-2
