AN ACT to amend the public health  law,  in  relation  to  disseminating
  information regarding overweight and underweight children

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1.  Subdivision 1 of section 207 of the public health  law  is
amended by adding a new paragraph (i) to read as follows:
  (I)  HEALTH  RISKS  TO  CHILDREN WHO BECOME OVERWEIGHT OR UNDERWEIGHT.
INFORMATION SHALL INCLUDE, BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO PROVIDING CITATIONS  TO
THE  DEPARTMENT'S WEBSITE, AS WELL AS OTHER APPROPRIATE WEBSITES PROVID-
ING CREDIBLE INFORMATION ON THE SUBJECT.
  S 2. This act shall  take  effect  on  the  first  of  September  next
succeeding the date on which it shall have become a law.
