KATZ -- read once and referred to the Committee on Governmental Operations AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to stopping sexual harassment in all workplaces THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The executive law is amended by adding a new section 302 to read as follows: S 302. SEXUAL HARASSMENT. NOTWITHSTANDING ANY OTHER PROVISION OF LAW TO THE CONTRARY AN EMPLOYEE OF ANY BUSINESS MAY FILE A SEXUAL HARASSMENT COMPLAINT. THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SECTION SHALL APPLY TO EVERY EMPLOYER IN NEW YORK STATE REGARDLESS OF THE NUMBER OF EMPLOYEES WORKING FOR SUCH BUSINESS. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately provided, however, that the New York state division of human rights shall have the power to promulgate any rules, regulations and procedures necessary for the implementation of this act.
