AN ACT making an appropriation to the New York  city  housing  authority
  for the expenses of such authority

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. The sum of thirty-five million dollars ($35,000,000), or so
much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated to the New York
city housing authority out of any moneys in the state  treasury  in  the
general  fund  to the credit of the state purposes account not otherwise
appropriated,  seventeen   million   five   hundred   thousand   dollars
($17,500,000)  of which shall be available for the two thousand fourteen
-- two thousand fifteen state fiscal year  and  seventeen  million  five
hundred  thousand  dollars ($17,500,000) of which shall be available for
the two thousand fifteen -- two thousand sixteen state fiscal year,  for
the  purpose  of  expediting and reducing the backlog of maintenance and
repair projects in buildings and housing units owned or operated by such
authority.  Such moneys shall be payable on the audit and warrant of the
comptroller on vouchers certified or approved by the New York city hous-
ing authority in the manner prescribed by law.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
