CLARK -- read once and referred to the Committee on Health AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to health care prox- ies when the principal is pregnant THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 5 of section 2981 of the public health law is amended by adding a new paragraph (g) to read as follows: (G) A HEALTH CARE PROXY MAY DIRECT WHICH LIFE SUSTAINING TREATMENT THE PRINCIPAL WOULD DESIRE OR NOT DESIRE IF THE PRINCIPAL IS PREGNANT AT THE TIME A HEALTH CARE PROXY BECOMES EFFECTIVE. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD14521-01-4
