AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to designating hydro-
  codone bitartrate as a schedule I controlled substance

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Subdivision (b) of schedule I of section 3306 of the public
health law is amended by adding a new paragraph 56 to read as follows:
  (56) HYDROCODONE BITARTRATE.
  S 2. Subparagraph 10 of paragraph 1 of subdivision (b) of schedule  II
of  section  3306  of  the public health law, as amended by section 1 of
part C of chapter 447 of the  laws  of  2012,  is  amended  to  read  as
follows:
  10.  Hydrocodone  (also  known as dihydrocodeinone), BUT NOT INCLUDING
HYDROCODONE BITARTRATE.
  S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
