AN ACT in relation to village justices in the  incorporated  village  of
  Old Westbury, county of Nassau

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Notwithstanding any inconsistent  provision  of  any  other
general  or  special  law, in the event that the incorporated village of
Old Westbury, county of Nassau, has two village justices, it may also by
resolution or local  law,  provide  for  an  additional  acting  village
justice  or  in  the  event such village has one village justice, it may
also by  resolution  or  local  law,  provide  for  two  acting  village
justices.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

AN  ACT  in  relation  to authorizing the village of Old Westbury in the
  county of Nassau to establish a second acting village justice

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1.  Notwithstanding  paragraph  a of subdivision 2 of section
3-301 of the village law, the village of Old Westbury, in the county  of
Nassau, is hereby authorized to adopt a local law or resolution, subject
to  permissive referendum, to establish a second acting village justice,
who shall be appointed and whose duties shall be determined pursuant  to
paragraph a of subdivision 2 of section 3-301 of the village law.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
