  Rural  Resources)  -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed
  to be committed to the Committee on Environmental Conservation

AN ACT to amend the  soil  and  water  conservation  districts  law,  in
  relation  to  authorizing  directors  of  soil  and water conservation
  districts to carry out  preventative  and  control  measures  for  the
  spread of invasive species

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Section 9 of the soil and water conservation districts  law
is amended by adding a new subdivision 16 to read as follows:
  (16)  TO CARRY OUT PREVENTATIVE AND CONTROL MEASURES FOR THE SPREAD OF
INVASIVE SPECIES.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

  restored  to  third  reading, amended and ordered reprinted, retaining
  its place in the order of third reading

AN ACT to amend the  soil  and  water  conservation  districts  law,  in
  relation  to  authorizing  directors  of  soil  and water conservation
  districts to carry out  preventative  and  control  measures  for  the
  spread of invasive species

  THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section 1. Section 9 of the soil and water conservation districts  law
is amended by adding a new subdivision 16 to read as follows:
  (16)  TO CARRY OUT PREVENTATIVE AND CONTROL MEASURES FOR THE SPREAD OF
PROHIBITED AND REGULATED SPECIES PURSUANT TO SECTION 9-1709 OF THE ENVI-
RONMENTAL CONSERVATION LAW.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
