AN ACT in relation to authorizing the village of Sag  Harbor  to  reduce
  the  maximum  speed  limit  along  certain  designated streets in such
  village to not less than 20 miles per hour

  THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  Section  1.  Notwithstanding any general, special or local law or code
to the contrary, the village board of  the  village  of  Sag  Harbor  in
Suffolk  County, subject to the limitations imposed by sections 1624 and
1684 of the vehicle and traffic law, may by local law, ordinance, order,
rule or regulation establish maximum speed limits at not less than twen-
ty miles per hour on any portion of the following  streets  within  such
village: Main Street, Bay Street, Madison Street, and Jermain Avenue.
  S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
