AN ACT to amend the education law and the general municipal law, in
relation to the authorization of school districts to enter into lease
purchase agreements for the acquisition of security solutions
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 2801-a of the education law is amended by adding a
new subdivision 10 to read as follows:
10. EACH SCHOOL DISTRICT SHALL BE AUTHORIZED TO ENTER INTO THREE TO
FIVE YEAR LEASE PURCHASE AGREEMENTS FOR THE ACQUISITION OF CLOUD DELIV-
ERED SECURITY SOLUTIONS THAT ASSIST SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN PROVIDING FOR
GENERAL SCHOOL SAFETY AND SCHOOL SAFETY PLANNING INCLUDING, BUT NOT
LIMITED TO, PROVIDING STATE AGENCIES AND LOCAL FIRST RESPONDERS WITH
INTERACTIVE DIGITAL ACCURATE VERIFIED FLOOR PLANS MARKED WITH CRITICAL
ASSETS AND BUILDING NAVIGATION, CONTACT LISTS AND EMERGENCY PLANS. SUCH
SOLUTIONS SHALL BE PURCHASED SUBJECT TO THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION ONE
HUNDRED NINE-B OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL LAW.
S 2. Subdivision 1 of section 109-b of the general municipal law is
amended by adding a new paragraph (e-1) to read as follows:
(E-1) "EQUIPMENT" FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS ARTICLE, SHALL INCLUDE
SECURITY SOLUTIONS WHICH ASSIST SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN PROVIDING FOR GENER-
AL SCHOOL SAFETY AND SCHOOL SAFETY PLANNING.
S 3. This act shall take effect immediately; provided, however that
amendments to subdivision 1 of section 109-b of the general municipal
law made by section two of this act shall not affect the repeal of such
section and shall be deemed to be repealed therewith.
