LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION honoring Constantine and Marianne Iordanou upon
the occasion of their designation as recipients of the Lifetime Achieve-
ment Award by Our Lady of Mercy Academy

WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made signif-
icant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, Constantine and Marianne Iordanou have given not only of
their time and energies but also of their competence, intelligence and
leadership and consequently have been designated for special honor; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Constantine
and Marianne Iordanou upon the occasion of their designation as recipi-
ents of the Lifetime Achievement Award by Our Lady of Mercy Academy, to
be celebrated with a Benefit Gala on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at Gotham
Hall in New York City; and
WHEREAS, Constantine Iordanou, affectionately known as Dinos, and his
wife Marianne, will receive this auspicious award in recognition of
their steadfast dedication and support to Our Lady of Mercy Academy in
Syosset, New York; and
WHEREAS, Realizing the importance that technology plays in the educa-
tion of high school students, Dinos and Marianne Iordanou, as a tribute
to their daughters, have designated that proceeds from this dinner will
support the funds needed to transform and upgrade the school's technolo-
gy infrastructure; and
WHEREAS, Dinos and Marianne Iordanou have been called upon to contrib-
ute their time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors
and have always given of themselves unstintingly; and
WHEREAS, For the past 15 years, Dinos and Marianne Iordanou have been
actively involved with Our Lady of Mercy Academy; as parents of Mercy
graduates, they spearheaded the campaign to build a turf field ten years
ago and have continued to work tirelessly on countless projects to bene-
fit students now and into the future; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of their community service, a
period of constructive involvement, Dinos and Marianne Iordanou have
stood constant in dignity, good grace and humor; today, Marianne serves
as Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors and Chairwoman of the Annual
Fund Task Force; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by individuals
for the benefit of others which Dinos and Marianne Iordanou have
displayed throughout their lives; and
WHEREAS, With them throughout have been their two daughters, Danielle
and Alexandra, both of whom feel privileged to be a part of their lives
and rejoice in their achievements; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when individ-
uals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our atten-
tion, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens of
this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Constantine and Marianne Iordanou upon the occasion of their
designation as recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Award by Our Lady
of Mercy Academy; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be tran-
smitted to Constantine and Marianne Iordanou.
