MAGEE -- read once and referred to the Committee on Local Governments AN ACT to amend the general municipal law, in relation to transport of law enforcement canines injured in the line of duty THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The general municipal law is amended by adding a new section 122-c to read as follows: S 122-C. TRANSPORT OF LAW ENFORCEMENT CANINES INJURED IN THE LINE OF DUTY. AN EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE PARAMEDIC OR EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE TECHNICIAN MAY TRANSPORT ANY CANINE IN A LAW ENFORCEMENT UNIT INJURED IN THE LINE OF DUTY TO A VETERINARY CLINIC OR SIMILAR SUCH FACILITY PROVIDED, HOWEVER, THAT THERE ARE NO PERSONS REQUIRING MEDICAL ATTENTION OR TRANSPORT AT SUCH TIME. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD10703-01-5
