BILL NUMBER: S6979 TITLE OF BILL : An act to repeal subdivision 8 of section 4-104 of the election law, relating to the amount paid to lease a polling station PURPOSE : To provide clarification in regard to fee charged for the use of accessible poll sites. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS : Section one of this repeals subdivision 8 of § 4-104 of the Election law. Section two is the effective date (Immediately). JUSTIFICATION : The provision to be repealed allowed for the amounts which may be paid for the use of poll sites to be different, distinguishing higher costs for those sites which are accessible and lesser amounts for those sites not deemed accessible. In that federal and state law requires that all poll sites be accessible, there is no longer any need for

Subdivision 8 of section 4-104 of the election law is REPEALED and subdivision 9 is renumbered subdivision 8. S 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD11042-01-5
