COMMENDING Hope House, Inc. upon the occasion of
celebrating its 50th Anniversary on September 16,
2017

WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and individuals who would devote themselves to the welfare
of the community and its citizenry; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Hope House, Inc. upon the occasion of its 50th Anniversary to be
celebrated at a Golden Anniversary Gala on Saturday, September 16, 2017,
at 90 State Street in Albany, New York; and

WHEREAS, Founded by a group of volunteers led by The Honorable
Howard J. Hubbard, Bishop Emeritus in 1967, Hope House, Inc. of Albany,
New York, has responded to needs in the community by providing
education, intervention and treatment to persons whose lives have been
affected by any form of chemical dependency or family dysfunction; and

WHEREAS, Hope House, Inc. is dedicated to providing an array of
high-quality residential, outpatient and community-based services
developmentally focused to both adult and youth populations; these
services are provided irrespective of color, creed, age, national
origin, marital status, disability, arrest/conviction record or ability
to pay; all services truly hope to empower each individual and family to
achieve their highest level of functioning; and

WHEREAS, Hope House, Inc. provides intensive, full-immersion therapy
programs for adult males in the Hope House Bette Center, teenagers in
the Hubbard Center Adolescent Residences, adult women and
mothers-in-recovery at the Women and Children's Center; and

WHEREAS, For five decades, Hope House, Inc. has strived to create a
safe environment for people to not only eat a good meal, but also sit
and relax in a warm and caring sanctuary; the staff at Hope House truly
hopes its visitors become self-sufficient and improve their quality of
life; and

WHEREAS, The success of Hope House, Inc. is in direct correlation to
the efforts of its Executive Director, Kevin M. Connally; Board of
Directors; staff and volunteers, whose involvement is, and always has
been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled
enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all
endeavors on behalf of this organization and the communities it serves;
and

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those
organizations which enhance the well-being and vitality of its community
and have shown a long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly

have earned the recognition and applause of all the citizens of this
great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Hope House, Inc. upon the occasion of celebrating its 50th
Anniversary on September 16, 2017; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Kevin M. Connally, Executive Director, Hope House, Inc.
