 Introduced by Sen. MARCHIONE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
   printed to be committed to the Committee on Civil Service and Pensions
 
 AN  ACT  to  authorize  Kimberly A. Cooney to take the competitive civil
   service examination and be placed on the eligible list for appointment
   as a full-time police officer for the City of Mechanicville, County of
   Saratoga
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  Notwithstanding the provisions of section 58 of the civil
 service law, or any other law to the contrary, Kimberly  A.  Cooney  who
 has  been  continuously  employed  by  the City of Mechanicville, in the
 County of Saratoga, as a part-time police officer, shall be eligible  to
 take  the  competitive  civil  service  examination  for the position of
 police officer and shall, contingent upon her score on such examination,
 be eligible to be placed on the eligible list for appointment as a full-
 time police officer for the City of Mechanicville.
   Kimberly A. Cooney shall otherwise be subject to the merit and fitness
 provisions of the civil service law applicable to full-time police offi-
 cers.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
