BILL NUMBER: S4989 TITLE OF BILL : An act to repeal section 14 and subdivision (c) of section 27 of chapter 4 of the laws of 2013 amending the real property tax law, relating to exemption from taxation of alterations and improvements to multiple dwellings to eliminate fire and health hazards, relating thereto PURPOSE : This bill repeals the 421a tax break that was provided to luxury developers in Chapter 4 of 2013. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS : Section 1. Repeals Section 14 and subdivision (c) of Section 27 of chapter 4 of the laws of 2013. These sections provide the 421a tax break to luxury developers and the effective date of such section. Section 2. Effective Date EXISTING LAW : Section 14, Chapter 4 of 2013, subdivision (c) of section 11-245 of the administrative code of the city of New York Section 27 of Chapter 4 of the laws of 2013 provides for the effective date of section 14.

DIAZ -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Housing, Construction and Community Development AN ACT to repeal section 14 and subdivision (c) of section 27 of chapter 4 of the laws of 2013 amending the real property tax law, relating to exemption from taxation of alterations and improvements to multiple dwellings to eliminate fire and health hazards, relating thereto THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 14 and subdivision (c) of section 27 of chapter 4 of the laws of 2013, amending the real property tax law, relating to exemption from taxation of alterations and improvements to multiple dwellings to eliminate fire and health hazards, are REPEALED. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall be deemed to have been in full force and effect on and after June 1, 2012. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD07381-01-7
